BPSR SET TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC PERCEPTION SURVEY ON THE IMPACTS OF TSA AND EXECUTIVE ORDER 005.

Director General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Mr. Dasuki Arabi has announced the Bureau’s preparedness to commence a public perception survey on the impact of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) and Executive Order 005 policy by the Federal Government. He disclosed this at a press briefing recently held in Abuja. According to him, the survey would afford the Bureau privileged information on the level of understanding of citizens of the operationalization of the Treasury Single Account and how it has impacted Nigerians. It would also assist Bureau of Public Service Reforms to gauge the effects on businesses and Government. Arabi affirmed that the Treasury Single Account was a bye-product of the reforms initiated by the Bureau of Public Service through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. He said the aim was to ensure consolidated government revenue to curtail cost of borrowing; aggregate control over cash balances; and ensure availability of funds for the execution of government policies, programmes and projects. In his address, the Director General highlighted the objectives of the Executive Order (EO-005) which was signed into law by the president on the 2nd February, 2018 for the local content development in Science Engineering and Technology. The DG assured that there would be a policy brief produced at the end of the exercise to serve as validation for the adoption of the Treasury Single Account (TSA). The survey is expected to commence from the 25th- 29th November after which the validation would hold later. The locations are: Lagos, Kano, Bayelsa, Enugu and FCT. At the end of the session, he specially thanked the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha for his unflinching supports through the reforms programmes initiated so far. He further mentioned that the programmes were possible because the President, Muhammadu Buhari has demonstrated true leadership by ensuring that Nigerians consume what they produce and vice -versa.
